havebike are delighted to be supporting the Dulux Trade London Revolution – The UK’s biggest multi-day cycling event.
Riders will cover 185 miles over the 14th & 15th May 2016. With regular pit stops along the route, chaperones, medical support and a half-way basecamp providing hot food, steaming showers and yoga classes the Dulux Trade London Revolution is undoubtedly one of the best-supported cycling events in the UK.
havebike’s expert technicians will be on hand providing mechanical support via mobile units, pit stops and at the basecamp. From replacing snapped chains and broken spokes to tuning gears and adjusting brakes, our team will do everything they can to keep riders on the road.
Are you taking part in the Dulux Trade London Revolution? Here’s our pre-ride pack list for pockets and saddle bags:
1. Pump / gas canister
A mini pump and/or gas canisters are a necessity. Gas canisters will inflate an inner tube in a couple of seconds. Handy if you don’t want to hang about.
Remember, the canister will freeze when the CO2 rushes out, so if it’s not covered, then make sure your hands are. Take as many canisters as you have spare tubes.
2. Inner tubes
Much quicker than patches. One inner tube is a bare necessity. Two is better still.
Three might be overkill, but it’s better to be well prepared.
3. Tyre levers
Take at least two. But remember, it’s best to use your hands to get the tyre back on.
Use a lever and you’re likely to pinch the tube between the lever and the rim, resulting in another puncture (and a wasted tube).
4. Multi tool
Carry a multi-tool with a selection of items. The smallest, lightest ones will have few tools, but usually enough to get you back on the road.
5. Emergency patches
Patches can be a space-saving alternative to more inner tubes.
If you run out of spare tubes you could face a wait for support, a packet of emergency patches will of the job of a dozen inner tubes if you hit real problems.
