Decent lights are a must have for the dark days of winter. Where a cat-eye style reflector can only be seen if hit by a direct beam, a battery powered light will keep you visible at all times.
At havebike we only recommend products we use ourselves. We ran a Zecto Drive pair all last winter and they performed brilliantly.
The Lezyne Zecto Drive rear light is a handy little essential; portable, convenient and adaptable. It can fix to the back of your seatpost, backpack or helmet with either a rubber band or clip to hold it in place. This mounting system also makes the light very easy to remove when locking your bike in a public area.
What makes the Lezyne a great choice for commuters is that it is USB chargeable. Even if it’s not fully charged when you leave the house in the morning, you can make sure it’s ready for the journey home. Just plug it into your computer’s USB port, or use the plug adapter if you don’t mind carrying it around with you.
Using three LEDs in a 35mm fitting to deliver six flash modes, the Lezyne Zecto Drive benefits from low energy output and quicker charging time; it takes just 2.5 hours to fully charge via USB. At its brightest, ‘blast’ mode, the light can hold enough charge to stay bright for 2.45 hours, which should be more than enough for your daily cycle commute. Unless, that is, you’re crazy enough to cycle from Guildford and back every day (in which case tweet us @havebike).
It’s also small enough to chuck in your bag or keep a spare in your desk at work, so you won’t be caught short if you find yourself cycling later – or earlier – than expected.
